Progress ReportsProgress reports were sent home in orange folders on Friday! Progress reports give some information about how your child is progressing. There is a wide range of normal in kindergarten! Typically, your child’s first progress report will contain lots of 3’s (right on track as a early reader and writer) and lots of D’s (right on track in transitioning to school routines and social kindergarten behaviors). Please do not feel that 3’s and D’s indicate that your child is not amazing and full of potential, but rather that they are amazing and full of potential and are academically and right on track. Reflecting on how we are helping the learning in our classroom and setting goals for improvement! As we approach Spring Break, we have been talking a lot about what grown up learners we have become and have started noticing the ways that our positive behavior can help and encourage learning in our classroom. Before our November conferences, each student assessed his or her learning behaviors using the rubric below, then set a goal for how they can help our learning even more. This week, we will be doing this reflection again. I will send your students rubric home with their progress report on Friday. Please talk with your student about this reflection, emphasizing how important it is for students to be aware of their behavior and what behaviors are helpful in the classroom. | Field Trip April 27th! |
