Reminders for the week: | Valentines Day |
- K teachers take a planning sub day on Monday, Jan. 30th! Please talk with your student about respectful guest teacher behavior to help prepare them. (Thank you PTA for allowing the k teachers to take a whole day to plan our next 2 PBL units and our addition/subtraction problem solving unit. This time together is invaluable!!) - No school Wednesday, Feb 1st - RESCHEDULED Book-it performance. Due to an illness with the main actress last week, we had to re-schedule the performance for Thursday, Feb 2nd @ 8:00am. | We do spend time in the morning as a class exchanging valentines. If your student chooses to bring valentines for the class, please make sure they have one for everybody. I also ask that no food/candy be attached to the valentine. A sticker, pencil, ect. attached to the valentine is okay. Thanks for your understanding

Global School Play Day
Room 210 is participating in the Annual Global School Play Day, Friday Feb. 3rd! The idea behind this day is to raise awareness of the importance of unstructured play in the lives of young people. From 11:35-2:05, we will put down our pencils, our books and our devices and PLAY. Adults will not lead or facilitate any of the play, it will all be self directed. One of the things that Peter Gray says about GSPD is that it will "signify to children that we recognize the importance of play in their lives." We are so lucky at QAE to be able to just go with it when something like this comes to our attention.
3. CALL FOR TOYS Tell your class to bring anything they wish to play with to school on Wednesday, February 3rd. The only restrictions: they must bring toys and these toys may NOT require batteries or electricity. No devices. Give them some ideas, since today's kids rarely play and often own very few toys: board games, dolls, Legos, blocks, trucks, cars, racetracks, playing cards, empty cardboard boxes, markers, jigsaw puzzles, blankets (for forts), social games (charades, Pictionary, etc.)"
