First literacy celebration!Thank you all for coming to our literacy celebration. These students have worked so hard on their literacy learning. We practiced our books all week and spent time revising our books to get them ready to be published! If you have not checked out your student's seesaw account, get on it! It is an awesome way to see what they have been learning throughout the week!

Here are a few tips from Seesaw for parents: 1. Be constructive! Learning a new skill is hard and your child needs your help. 2. Specific comments are best. Think about how you can add to the learning conversation. 3. In a group or everyone’ post, please remember your comment is shared with everyone tagged - students and their parents. This is a great opportunity to lift up the whole class!
What did you like about the hr of code?
I am excited to announce that we have launched our Seesaw accounts!
Many classrooms at QAE used Seesaw last year, so you may already be familiar with it. We used it a little in Kindergarten last year, but I am looking forward to learning more about it and using it more with my students this year. Our 2nd grade reading buddies are helping us with our first posts! "Seesaw empowers students of any age to independently document what they are learning at school. Students capture learning with photos and videos of their work, or by adding digital creations. Everything gets organized in one place and is accessible to teachers from any device. Student work can be shared with classmates, parents, or published to a class blog. Seesaw gives students a real audience for their work and offers parents a personalized window into their child's learning. It's completely private -- only you can see your child's journal outside of class." On Friday, I sent home a flyer in orange folders with our class code that will give you access to view your student's Seesaw account. Directions are on the sheet, but if you need help logging in please let me know.
