Reminders for the week: | June Events! |
MAP testing coming next week: Students will take their Spring MAP tests. They will take the Reading test on Wednesday, June 7th and the Math test on Thursday, June 8th. I am amazed at how much they have learned this year and look forward to giving them a chance to show that. As I have in the fall and winter, I will ask them to try their hardest, take their time and be respectful of other testers when they finish. I enjoy having this MAP data to verify the academic growth that I see in the classroom. However, with any testing event, I keep in mind the variables involved and view the MAP data as one of many assessments data sources I use to assess academic growth! Here is a link for practicing using a computer with a mouse! | FPBL Showcase: June 14th @ QAE. This is a nighttime event. I believe it is from 5:00-6:30. This open house style event is a time for your student to show you their latest collaborative PBL project and walk around to see other classroom's work. We are asking K students to perform our "what a wonderful world" song in the garden at 5:30. If your child can make it then, great! If not, we will have enough between all 3 k classes. Kindergarten teacher Pizza night: Friday June 16th 5:00-7:30pm. For the auction this year, the k teachers are hosting a pizza night for QAE students. Parents signed up at the auction for this event and donated $35 to QAE. We have 4 spots left if you would like your child to attend. These spots will go fast! E-mail me if you would like to donate join. Field Day: June 22nd @ Little Howe Park. Parents are encouraged to sign up and volunteer or come and hang out with us! Our class color is PURPLE! WE will be providing a class shirt for everyone to wear that day. Kindergarten Last Day of School Picnic: June 26th @ Trolley Hill Park. All 3 K classes will walk to the park and eat lunch together. Parents are welcome to come and spend these last moments together as a Kinder group. Time will most likely be 11:00-noon. |
Classroom Volunteers!
I have had a wonderful group of volunteers come into the classroom to support our learning and an AMAZING classroom coordinator who is working behind the scenes to keep us all informed. On behalf of the QAE staff, I want to invite you to come to our volunteer appreciation celebration in the library on Friday, June 16th. Come by, grab a bite to eat, and a cup of coffee on us!
