Our books are getting to be a bit more challenging. There are harder sight words, trickier sounds, and surprise endings that don't follow the pattern. Our super powers need a boost of extra strength! Here is an example of a level C book | |
Harder Sight Words
Sight word power needs a boost! We are really making sure we can read these words in a snap! We are playing sight word bingo, using flash cards, and practicing writing these words so that we know how to read and write them without even thinking. If your student doesn't know these words yet, practice at home! This will give them the extra strength they need to move on to level C books. Remember, the end of year expectation for kindergarten is level E!

Trickier sounds
It is time to start thinking about digraphs and blends! We are learning how to say the sounds of these letter combinations and trying to remember to add them in our writing.
