At the beginning of the month, Mr. Liner announced QAE's year-long theme ~ Mistakes Are Welcome Here! Each month, we will explore a character trait tied to our theme. Our new student leadership team will help us announce these themes at our monthly assemblies. For the month of November, we are looking at BRAVE. We read the Dr. Seuss book, "The Lorax", and when the Lorax said, "I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues" he was being brave. Speaking up for someone who has no voice is important. If we do not do this, we risk losing something important. Our class challenge is to pay attention to bravery for the month, noticing it when we see it. I think we are going to notice that we are pretty brave everyday! Bravery can be something small, like raising your hand to ask a question or something big like standing up for a friend or yourself. We will also spend the month finding examples of characters being brave in books! We are capturing our bravery with this truffula tree! At the end of the month, we are going to count up just how much bravery we saw in ourselves and others. |
